Meet Nestor Ortiz

Nestor brings more than 25 years of experience in youth and community development, serving in multiple leadership roles across nonprofits and community institutions. He has helped organizations nationwide create strong, community-rooted programs while building bridges between front-line teams, leadership, and the diverse communities they serve.

As President & CEO of 16 Point Compass Consulting, he focuses on developing inclusive strategies, coaching leaders, and facilitating trainings that help people grow and thrive. He is passionate about helping communities work past political divides, supporting social justice conversations, and strengthening civic engagement.

Nestor also founded #WorkingintheGrey, hosts Duality of Sorts, and co-hosts WMNF 88.5’s weekly radio show The Urban Café. His leadership includes serving as Chair of the Hillsborough County Diversity Advisory Council and participating in the New Leaders Council (Tampa Bay 2017).

Outside of community work, he is an outdoor enthusiast and the creator of odom705, an eco-sustainable design and furniture venture. Above all, he is most proud of being the father of two caring teenage boys.
